Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai has provoked outrage after threatening Palestinians with a “holocaust,” but the same media who obsessed about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s “wipe Israel off the map” misquote are scurrying to defend Vilnai’s disgraceful comments.

“The more Qassam (rocket) fire intensifies and the rockets reach a longer range, they (the Palestinians) will bring upon themselves a bigger holocaust because we will use all our might to defend ourselves,” Vilnai told the Army Radio on Friday.

However, in a Reuters report, despite the fact that the rest of the statement was translated into English, the incendiary word “holocaust” remained in its original Hebrew version - “shoah”.

Why Reuters would choose to print the rest of the statement in English yet cherry-pick one word to remain in Hebrew is obvious - they don’t want to draw any attention to the fact that Vilnai is threatening the Palestinians with a holocaust.

Vilnai’s spokesman has attempted to diffuse the controversy by claiming Vilnai was speaking in terms of a “disaster” and not a holocaust.

U.S. Court Order Shuts Down Wikileaks.org

Incredibly, Wikileaks.org, an organization devoted to exposing corruption, has been muzzled by a U.S. court order (pdf download). Rather than attack a specific finding or document, the court has ordered their DNS registrar to essentially erase the organization's website from the Web. While wikileaks.org is down, their site can be found via IP addess: http://88.80.13.160, which is hosted in Sweden.

The order comes at the request of a Swiss bank, Bank Julius Baer, and its Cayman Islands subsidiary who had been implicated in allegedly laundering money by documents posted on wikileaks.org. A recap of Wikileaks coverage of Bank Julius Baer is mirrored here.

Corporate Controlled False Elections Continue Unquestioned by Government, Media and Financial Institutions

It is not a coincidence that Now is precisely the time of our developing National democracy continually splitting every National decision on a virtual 50/50 split...

at the exact time that technology and communications are enabling every persons' voice to be counted and heard.

The ties are all going to the warmongers. This is no coincidence.

When the majority of U.S. citizens speak in a majority voice, that majority is consistent and certain in it's desire for Peace.

The warmongers and Corporate puppetmasters are deceiving the majority by using graphs and statistics to pretend that their views are equally valid.

When necessary, they take the argument into the legal system, where judges are consistently ruling in favor of the System over challenging and evolving it.

Ohio was used by Bush to justify stealing an election and now a Clinton is using it to justify stealing a primary.

Paranoias and conspiracies aside, it is noteworthy that it is the media alone which considers Hillary as an equal opponent to Obama... with her loss/resurgence occupying over 2/3 as much exposure as the platform and words of Obama.

And McCain occupying the final third...

With Obama's news exposure relegated to one line responses to attacks he is receiving from both.

The night before the 4 state primary elections, Clinton was given the opening skit of Saturday Night Live and an interview on The Daily Show, showing (stereotypically) that the Jewish males of the New York City american media prefer Clinton to Obama... including the King of All Media, Howard Stern.

The bias is so subtle you have to be paranoid to acknowledge it.

It is the same subtle bias that denounces Venezuela's declaration of war against Columbia as not legitimate,

it is the same subtle bias that refuses to explore or question the U.S. support of an Israeli state in the Middle East,

it is the same subtle bias that makes talk of attacking Iran legitimate

while we kill the citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan

and our leaders continue to go unpunished for confirmed lies.

It is the same bias that treats Al Jazeera as a terrorist organization rather than a media outlet.

Longest Walk parade with Shoshone elders' float in Ely, Nevada

ELY, Nevada -- Western Shoshone elders from the Ely Indian Colony joined the Longest Walk 2 Northern Route for a parade with a float through downtown Ely on Friday, Feb. 29. The parade was welcomed to the Ely Indian Colony, with a drum song and a huge feast of chicken, meatloaf and large pots of stews and cornbread.

Julie Brown, Lakota from Pine Ridge, came all the way from her home in Ethete, Wyoming, in a memorial tribute to her father, Henry Red Bear Brown, Lakota from Pine Ridge, who was an original Long Walker in the 1978 walk. Brown joined her sister Bernice Thompson, who lives in Ely, to host the memorial honor.

Brown and Thompson presented star quilts to Jimbo Simmons, coordinator of the Longest Walk northern route, and Tomas Reyes, keeper of the Staffs and Eagle feathers.

During the evening, Shoshone community members spoke out against a proposed coal-fired power plant here and water extraction for the insatiable thirst of Las Vegas. Shoshone also said the BLM and Forest Service are profiteering from the Shoshones' traditional lands and demanding that Shoshones pay fees for willows gathered for basketmaking. Shoshone women were told they would have to pay 10 cent per willow.

"The BLM and Forest Service are armed," said one Shoshone elder, pointing out that a permit is also required for traditional gathering of pine nuts.

Further, because of the US government's actions of eradicating many of the jackrabbits and coyotes, the ecosystem here is out of balance. "Men can not play god and that is what they are doing," said one Shoshone elder.

"Now we don't see the birds, coyotes and rattlers. There is no ecological balance." The Western Shoshone elder said that the recent earthquake here should have sent a signal to halt plans to pump water out for Las Vegas and stop the destruction and poisoning of Mother Earth.

Western Shoshone spiritual person Johnnie Bobb, Yomba Shoshone, led a sunrise ceremony on Saturday, March 1, for walkers and community members. After a breakfast feast at Ely Indian Colony, the Longest Walk 2 walkers and runners continued their prayer journey for Mother Earth, on Hwy 50, to Baker, where the Longest Walk will stay two nights.
